Key Personnel


Ken Davidson – Non-Executive Director. Ken is currently chairman of two other Lloyd’s brokers, and has been in the insurance business for nearly 45 years. He has had a variety of senior positions at brokers, underwriting agents and insurance law firms. He is ex-chairman of the London section of the British Insurance Brokers Association, is a past master of the Wheelwrights’ Company and has been heavily involved in the work of Insurance charities and professional education as a past chairman of the Chartered Insurance Institute.


Bruce ShepherdBruce Shepherd – Non-Executive Director – Bruce has worked in the Lloyd’s market for over 45 years spending the first 15 years as a broker.  In 1982 Bruce moved to underwriting to become deputy underwriter of syndicate 807; a Kiln managed syndicate.  In 1992 Bruce was appointed a director of Kiln.  He has written most classes of business from around the world but has specialized mostly in the USA and Canadian markets. Bruce retired from Kiln after completing 30 years as an underwriter and has taken up a roll with Prospect Brokers, where he has had a long term relationship with the principals for over 30 years.



Cliff WebbCliff Webb – Chairman – Cliff has also been in the insurance industry for nearly 45 years after obtaining an economics degree from Pembroke College, Cambridge. Beginning his career with 10 years at C.T. Bowring, rising to assistant director, he became a founding partner with Robert Fleming Insurance Brokers. In late 1989 he joined another new broker Rattner Mackenzie Ltd and was elected to the board in 1991. For 25 years Cliff has specialized in binding authorities, and was responsible for that part of the business. He left Rattner Mackenzie in order to form Prospect Insurance Brokers in late 2009.



Jamie 2Jamie Webb –  Managing Director – After obtaining his business studies degree, Jamie joined Rattner Mackenzie in 2005 who at the time were owned by Houston Casualty Company. He then moved to the Bermuda office where he served nearly three years learning about the global reinsurance market and helping to place HCCs treaty business. He then spent some time in Rattner’s New York office where he was employed principally to build the business of a major coverholder. Jamie left Rattner Mackenzie to form Prospect Brokers in 2010 and was designated Insurance Day’s Young Broker of the Year in 2012 in recognition of his work at Prospect.  Jamie was appointed Managing Director of Prospect in January 2015.


Barrie West

Barrie West – Director – Barrie has been in the market for 58 years and with Prospect since 2011. He was Director of Hogg Robinson and then Leslie & Goodwin, both now part of Aon. He handles all classes, both direct and reinsurance, favouring binding authority/program business, mainly from the USA, but has interest in the Caribbean, South Africa, France and the UK.



Mark Kiedish – Finance Director – After graduating from Warwick University, Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Moore Stephens LLP in 2006, whilst specialising in insurance broker audits. In 2007, he left practice to join Crispin Speers and Partners Limited where he continues to hold a senior financial position. In 2011, Mark joined the Prospect Board where he is responsible for all aspects of the company’s finances.


David HouseDavid House – Divisional Director- David started his insurance career with Marsh and McLennan and after working at Price Forbes on the nursing home account, joined Rattner Mackenzie in 2007. There he worked on American and UK binding authorities of various sorts. He joined Prospect Insurance Brokers at its inception.




William Hill – Divisional Director – With over a decade of experience in both the London market and the US Admitted market specialising in equine insurance, and a lifetime of experience as a rider, amateur national hunt jockey and a jumping competitor, William brings professionalism and passion to every client.
Prior to joining Prospect Insurance Brokers in 2017, William was Head of the US Equine and Livestock team for XL Group.  He began working with Willis in 2004 within the equine team, before joining Lloyd’s broker Thompson Heath and Bond, where he helped set up Unicorn Underwriting Agency, which was subsequently sold to XL Group.
William holds an Upper Second Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and English from Oxford Brookes University.


Mauricio Loyola Goich – Head of Latin America –  Mauricio has worked in the Latin American market for over 22 years, both on the Underwriting and Broking side with international insurance companies and (Re)Insurance Brokers respectively. In 1995 he started as a trainee underwriter at CHUBB, with responsibilities across different lines of business including Property and Financial Lines. In 2000 Mauricio moved to Heath Lambert as a reinsurance broker across all major classes of business. In 2003 he moved to AGF/Allianz as Industrial Technical Manager reporting to Munich, underwriting large industrial risks with the support of Home Office and Reinsurance Markets. In 2005 Mauricio began a start-up Broker called MGT Re which was subsequently sold to Willis in 2006 where he was then the CEO of Willis Reinsurance in Chile, winning a number of industry awards for his work. In 2012 Mauricio undertook another start-up for Integro Brokers, building their reinsurance office. In 2017 Mauricio became the Head of Latin America for Prospect Insurance Brokers with the aim of establishing Prospect’s presence in the Chilean and Latin American market.


James Gadbury – Senior Broker – James joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in December 2011 as a graduate of Newcastle University. He started out by assisting in both the claims and broking divisions across various classes of business, before spending the majority of his time on the placing side, assisting on various accounts for clients worldwide, including cargo, GL, property, liability, A&H, K&R and life. More recently, James was appointed COO of UAV Protect, a new trading name of Prospect Brokers, which provides specialist insurance to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)/drone operators and manufacturers worldwide. James regularly attends and speaks at UAV trade shows, conferences and events and has developed strong partnerships with various commercial UAV operators globally, regulatory associations, leading manufacturers and other key players in the industry. James has also obtained his ACII.


0660HRBW thumbnailAllan Prior – Account Director – Allan has worked in the Insurance market since 1964 starting his career at Bevington Vaizey and Foster, where he worked with Bruce Shepherd. In 1979 Allan had a change of career and moved to Dartmouth, Devon for four years where he still had plenty to “plaice”, but of the “fishy” kind.  On returning to Broking in June 1984 he returned to Insurance where he later joined Marsh McLennan developing his skills in the USA and Canadian market on both Fortune 500 and SME business.  After 17 years with Marsh he moved on to specialise in the International Property market



Simon WestSimon West – Senior Broker – Simon joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in April 2015 assisting in both the claims and broking divisions across various classes of business. Simon has 13 years insurance experience having started with Amlin PLC where he gained knowledge on both the underwriting and claims departments.




Jeremy Pryke – Divisional Director – Jeremy joined Prospect in May 2017 from Tyser’s and brings with him 35 years of experience in the London market.  Jeremy has cross class experience but specialises in High Risk liability and Complex Risk Solutions.




Matthew Peacock – Senior Broker – Matthew has 30 years experience in the London Market. Matthew has cross class experience but specialises in Jewellers Block, Fine Art and Kidnap and Ransom.




Richard Eyre – Broker – Richard is from Genoa in Italy and a graduate of Law from Genoa University. He also went on to complete a specialist commercial law degree in Bocconi University, Milan. After university Richard held various positions in international law firms transacting Civil and Insurance Law. In 2015 he joined Tysers Insurance Brokers before moving to Prospect Insurance Brokers in 2017. Richard is responsible for developing the Italian and Swiss market with particular emphasis on

Kevin Smith – Technical Director – Kevin has had over 20 years experience in all aspects of processing binding authorities. For 15 years was the senior technician on a large part of the Rattner Mackenzie binding authority business. He joined Prospect Insurance Brokers at its inception.  Kevin currently heads up the technical team and in addition is involved in other areas of the company’s operations.



Tina Warburton – Senior Technician – Tina joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in November 2010 and has over 16 years experience in Insurance covering all aspects of technical processing from claims through to slip and policy production. Her experience has been gained working in Broking Houses, Lloyds Syndicates and the Company market.




Gary Rowland – Senior Technician – Gary joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in January 2015 and has worked in the insurance industry since 1980.  His principal area of experience is the production of London Market Contract documentation.




Danny Kyle – Senior Technician – Danny has over 20 years technical and operational experience within Lloyd’s Brokers of varying sizes, from the smaller specialist broker to the likes of the Willis Group, which he left in February 2016 to join Prospect.  Over the years Danny has specialised in Non-Marine Binding Authorities from ‘cradle to grave’ working with and assisting Coverholders from across the globe participating in varying types of business to reach their goals.  His ethos is to understand Coverholders’ needs and wants whilst meeting and raising market expectations.



Claire Sutton – Senior Technician – Claire joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in 2016 and has over 14 years experience in the London market.  Claire has gained her knowledge and experience in various London Broking houses including THB and RFIB. She has handled Marine and Non-Marine classes of business, both direct and reinsurance and more recently binding authorities from all parts of the World.



Derek Martin – Senior Technician – Derek joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in June 2016 and has over 20 years of technical experience in the London Market focusing more on Property.




Darren Phillips – Claims Manager – Darren has been in the London Insurance Market for 29 years and joined Prospect from MS-Amlin in June 2016.  Darren deals with all claims emanating from the various classes of business which are placed by Prospect including Professional lines, CGL, Property, Marine, Scuba, Cyber, Forestry and Drones.  Prior to Prospect, Darren spent 11 years with MS-Amlin as a Senior Claims Handler within the Casualty Claims department.  Darren had also worked in the Claims departments of Alea, St.Paul Re and Royal Insurance.



Jess Edward – Accounts – Jess started in the post room of a local insurance company 10 years ago, working in various departments to gain experience before finally ending up in the finance team.  Since then she has worked for Liberty Mutual and Howden, before joining Prospect in July 2016.

Suzanne Mullan – Claims Technician- (Sue) has been in the London Insurance Market for circa 25 years and joined Prospect initially on a short term contract in August 2017 and becoming a permanent member of staff in the claims department as at 01/01/2018.  Sue works alongside Darren Phillips and handles all claims emanating from the various classes of business which are placed by Prospect including Professional Line, Cyber, CGL, Property, Marine, Scuba, Forestry, Drones and Equine.  Prior to Prospect, Sue spent circa 18 months in a couple of contract roles at Besso & RKH having been at Randall & Quilter as the London Operations Team Leader (7 years) and Liability/Property claims handler at Admiral Underwriting Agencies (6 years).
Sue’s previous roles to the above include Outwards Reinsurance Technician at Terra Nova (Markel).
