William Hill

With over a decade of experience in both the London market and the US Admitted market specialising in equine insurance, and a lifetime of experience as a rider, amateur national hunt jockey and a jumping competitor, William brings professionalism and passion to every client.

Prior to joining Prospect Insurance Brokers in 2017, William was Head of the US Equine and Livestock team for XL Group.  He began working with Willis in 2004 within the equine team, before joining Lloyd’s broker Thompson Heath and Bond, where he helped set up Unicorn Underwriting Agency, which was subsequently sold to XL Group.

William holds an Upper Second Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and English from Oxford Brookes University.

Barrie West
Director of Paramount Global Risks, A Division of Prospect Insurance Brokers Limited

Barrie has over 50 years insurance experience broking and producing business for Lloyd’s. He was Director of Hogg Robinson and then Leslie & Goodwin, both now part of Aon. He handles all classes, both direct and reinsurance, favouring binding authority/program business, mainly from the USA, but has interest in the Caribbean, South Africa, France and the UK.

James Gadbury

James joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in December 2011 as a graduate of Newcastle University. He started out by assisting in both the claims and broking divisions across various classes of business, before spending the majority of his time on the placing side, assisting on various accounts for clients worldwide, including cargo, GL, property, liability, A&H, K&R and life. More recently, James was appointed COO of UAV Protect, a new trading name of Prospect Brokers, which provides specialist insurance to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)/drone operators and manufacturers worldwide. James regularly attends and speaks at UAV trade shows, conferences and events and has developed strong partnerships with various commercial UAV operators globally, regulatory associations, leading manufacturers and other key players in the industry. James has also completed his ACII.

George Webb
Broker & Manager

George joined Prospect Insurance Brokers in March 2010 coming from a legal background.  He gained his Law degree from Leicester University and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at Guildford College.  He has been a valuable asset in both the claims and broking divisions since his arrival.

Kevin Smith

Kevin has had over 20 years experience in all aspects of processing binding authorities. For 15 years was the senior technician on a large part of the Rattner Mackenzie binding authority business. He joined Prospect Insurance Brokers at its inception.

David House
Senior Broker

David started his insurance career with Marsh and McLennan and after working at Price Forbes on the nursing home account, joined Rattner Mackenzie in 2007. There he worked on American and UK binding authorities of various sorts. He joined Prospect Insurance Brokers at its inception.

Cliff Webb
Managing Director

Cliff has also been in the insurance industry for nearly 40 years after obtaining an economics degree from Pembroke College, Cambridge. Beginning his career with 10 years at C.T. Bowring, rising to assistant director, he became a founding partner with Robert Fleming Insurance Brokers. In late 1989 he joined another new broker Rattner Mackenzie Ltd and was elected to the board in 1991. For 25 years Cliff has specialized in binding authorities, and was responsible for that part of the business. He left Rattner Mackenzie in order to form Prospect Insurance Brokers in late 2009.

Ken Davidson

Ken is currently chairman of two other Lloyd’s brokers, and has been in the insurance business for nearly 40 years. He has had a variety of senior positions at brokers, underwriting agents and insurance law firms. He is currently chairman of the London section of the British Insurance Brokers Association, is a past master of the Wheelwrights’ Company and has been heavily involved in the work of Insurance charities and professional education as a past chairman of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Jamie Webb

After obtaining his business studies degree, Jamie joined Rattner Mackenzie on their graduate trainee programme. He then moved to the Bermuda office where he served nearly three years learning about that market and its interplay with the world reinsurance market. He was then transferred to the New York office where he was employed principally to build the business of a major coverholder. Jamie left Rattner Mackenzie to form Prospect Brokers in 2010 and was designated Insurance Day’s Young Broker of the Year in 2012 in recognition of his work at Prospect.

Bruce Shepherd

Bruce has worked in the Lloyd’s market for over 45 years spending the first 15 years as a broker.  In 1982 Bruce moved to underwriting to become deputy underwriter of syndicate 807; a Kiln managed syndicate.  In 1992 Bruce was appointed a director of Kiln.  He has written most classes of business from around the world but has specialized mostly in the USA and Canadian markets. Bruce retired from Kiln after completing 30 years as an underwriter and has taken up a roll with Prospect Brokers, where he has had a long term relationship with the principals for over 30 years.
